Room 222, Saturday Morning

While Warren's day typically started with a grunt and a stretch and overall reluctance to leave the comfort and warmth of his bed, today seemed to have a few extra rituals tacked on, for good measure.
The first was to sit bolt-upright, twist around, and make a grab at his alarm clock. Shit, he was late for his shift at The Paper Lantern.
The second was to sort of freeze, narrowing his eyes at the clock as he realized that this one wasn't his. This was followed by a moment to actually gather his wits, look around the room, and realize that it wasn't the only thing that wasn't his, actually.
And, upon finally making his way out of bed, opening to the door, and peering at the number on it, he found himself mildly confused but mostly unsurprised that the dorm number he'd wound up in was a floor and some doors down from the room he used to call his. At least 222 was easy to remember.
"Fandom," he grunted, shaking his head and making his way back into the room, careful to not let the little white kitten at his feet slip out into the hallway. "Go figure."
[Open for roomies or visitors of all shapes and sizes! Mmmm, AU. I missed Warren 1.0, and so, lo, here he is for the weekend.]

Date: 2010-03-06 04:51 pm (UTC)She looked startled for a moment.
Then giggled.

Date: 2010-03-06 04:53 pm (UTC)The room seemed to be more or less inhabited by cute things, Warren noted. Cute things, and then himself.
He was not cute, and would happily singe the hand of anyone who insinuated as much, thank you.
"Nice landing," he offered. Because he was apparently feeling more social than usual, today.

Date: 2010-03-06 04:57 pm (UTC)... Then stared.
"You're not Sensei-san!" This was said as if it were a Very Important Observation more than anything accusatory.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:00 pm (UTC)Fandom. Sigh.
"Who are you, anyhow? You don't go to school here, do you?"
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-06 05:03 pm (UTC)She blinked up at him.
"Where's that?"

Date: 2010-03-06 05:08 pm (UTC)Girl in bottle. Random cat. Wrong room entirely. This kind of did have all the hallmarks of what the hell, Fandom? Which had him wondering how long he would be here, or if he should bother giving his mom a call to tell her he was fine.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:13 pm (UTC)Kururu swivelled to look at her bottle. "I'm out of it now?"
Because, well, she was.
"And there's a rainbow? Where?!" Excuse her, she was just going to lean over the desk and tumbled off of it to land on the chair. This didn't seem to hurt her at all, at least? "I want to see!"

Date: 2010-03-06 05:20 pm (UTC)It was cute and dumb. Warren hadn't been aware that brains came in miniature, too.
"We could probably get you some crayons, and you can make your own," he decided. Because that seemed like a good way to keep the little girl out of trouble.
Even if any crayons out there were probably about the same size as her.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:27 pm (UTC)Big blue eyes fixed on his face. Well--in his direction. He was very tall (or rather, she was very tiny) and Kururu was peering around the chair back at him.
"Make one?" She was intrigued! "Will it go in the sky?"
Ooooh, maybe she could be a painter of rainbows and fill the whole sky with them! Pretty... but what about the sun?
Wouldn't the sun get sad being covered up?
"The sun won't mind?"

Date: 2010-03-06 05:31 pm (UTC)It was like talking to a playschool kid.
Surprisingly, Warren had some weird semblance of patience for this sort of thing. He blamed it on hanging out with Will, who was about this smart on a good day.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:38 pm (UTC)Rainbows drawn in crayon came with paper after all. And papering the sun would make it sad, right?
Kururu dropped down from the chair, landing on a rug with a little thump.
Which, of course, got Yei's attention.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:42 pm (UTC)"Not if you know when to stop," he pointed out. "One rainbow is plenty."

Date: 2010-03-06 05:47 pm (UTC)Yei was going to slink over to sniff at the... wriggly thing. That sort of smelled like Mommy. Sounded a bit like her too. Mommy had never been that small though. Kururu giggled, stumbling back from Giant Kitty. Hiii.
"There should be four!" she said, wide-eyed. "One for each season!"
... Rainbows didn't work that way, no.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:55 pm (UTC)Don't mind Warren, Yei. He was going to just pick you up to be certain that you didn't do anything like eat the little happy thing, now.
"Why not."
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-06 05:59 pm (UTC)Kururu was completely oblivious to the fact that the kitty might possibly eat her. They were friends! She was safe!
"I could do one for you! Sign your name!"
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-06 06:07 pm (UTC)He was in somebody else's room. But... there had to at least be a pen in here somewhere, right? What student didn't own at least a red and blue pen.
Some poking around an expensive-looking schoolbag slung off to the corner revealed that whoever's space he was in, the other guy's name was Warren, too. And there weren't any crayons, no, but there was a binder with some lined paper on it, and a black pen.
Also expensive-looking.
"Black rainbows. Sure."
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-06 06:13 pm (UTC)Also, the pen was, like, easily double her size.
"Rainbows aren't black!"
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-06 06:22 pm (UTC)Be nice, Warren.
"There are probably crayons in one of the common rooms, if you'd rather hang around by people," he noted, eager to find some reprieve from babysitting duty.
And stuffing her into a common room would make it a touch more difficult for the kitten to eat her, too.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-06 06:24 pm (UTC)Oh, way to confuse her even worse.
But the rest of it she understood! "Crayons and people!"
Kururu flailed excitedly.
... very preschoolery, yes.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-06 06:27 pm (UTC)This earned a sigh while Warren crouched down, holding out his hand for her to step up onto. That seemed like the safest way to get her out of here without accidentally stepping on her, at least. And it meant that he could put the mystery kitten down and pick up the paper in his other hand.
"Come on, then. Let's get you set up somewhere else."

Date: 2010-03-06 06:45 pm (UTC)"Let's go!" she cheered. "Up and away! (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/1860921.html)"
